Hi, I'm Nadia. I'm a mum of two, and like most Aussie families, our kitchen used to be full of plastic utensils, synthetic sponges, and products I never really thought twice about. It wasn't until I started looking more closely at what we were cooking with, cleaning with, and bringing into our home every single day that I realized how much of it was quietly working against us.

Plastic spatulas scratching into hot pans. Dish cloths shedding synthetic fibres into our water. Utensils that stained, warped, and ended up in the bin within a year. I kept thinking, there has to be a better way.

So I started looking for alternatives. Natural ones. Beautiful ones. Things that were actually safe for my kids, kind to the planet, and made well enough to last. And when I couldn't find everything I was looking for in one place, I decided to create it myself. That's how Waratah Wood Co was born.

We started with what matters most in the heart of every home, the kitchen. Our teakwood utensils are crafted to be as functional as they are beautiful, naturally resistant to bacteria and gentle on your cookware. Our mineral oils are made to nourish and protect your wooden pieces so they last for years, not months. And our 100% cotton dish cloths are soft, absorbent, and completely free from the synthetic fibres that end up in our waterways.

Every single product we carry is chosen with one question in mind: would I feel good about using this in my own home, around my own children? If the answer isn't a confident yes, it doesn't make it onto our shelves.

Waratah Wood Co is still a small, family run brand and I am genuinely proud of that. Every order means the world to me. Every time a family chooses to swap out plastic and toxic products for something more natural and intentional, I feel like we are doing exactly what we set out to do.
